Organic Veg Box Schemes

"It’s better to pay the grocer than the doctor!"

Below are top organic fruit n’veg box schemes for Ireland, the UK, Oz, California, Colorado and Michigan. That, I imagine, should cover about 80% of the site's visitors.

The surprise element each week is a much welcomed respite from the trivialities of mundane shopping lists. Give it a trial run, and you’ll find your culinary repertoire rapidly expand to accommodate the box’s entire contents. Most of the weblinks below also include online recipe suggestions to help you get the most from your weekly box.

Valentine's

This week saw industrial amounts of emails from anxious boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives and lovers wondering what on Holy Moses to cook their loved ones on Valentine’s Day.

With no cream, butter, pasta, cakes and sugar on the menu, brain cells were combusting.

Relax. It’s truly easy to prepare raunchy little recipes without compromising their dietary restrictions.

Check out the hyperlinks below and cart yourself to the nearest food hall or health food store. No recipe takes longer than 20 minutes to prepare, which gives you plenty of down time with Romeo or Juliette. Here’s a few more suggestions I inflicted upon unsuspecting programme presenters live on Australia’s ABC, Jack FM Oxford, Newstalk Ireland and the BBC if you are in need of a giggle and a goggle.

Overseas and yonder? Fret not. My most adored and magical raw chocolate maker is doing a limited Valentine flavour with rose petals (see piccie) especially for postal delivery. Seismic stuff. Never fails to swell my chest and hijack my senses. Raw chocolate contains massive amounts of magnesium to jumpstart even the slowest of pulses. I swear, its nutritional benefits would rival that of a multivitamin pill! (see my diary entry July 12, 2008). Available by mail order or in smaller delis around Oxford University.
